The Sex Life Support Mothers Deserve
You get cleared for sex at your six-week postpartum visit with zero education about what to actually expect. No one tells you it might hurt, or that you might not want it, or what your body needs to get there. At your annual exam, sex might come up as one quick question, brushed over fast, and if your answer is anything other than "fine," there is rarely any real help behind it. Then perimenopause and menopause hit, and suddenly sex gets treated like it is optional. Like it stopped mattering. Like your health and your desire are two different things.
Nobody asked about your desire. Nobody asked what sex actually feels like in a body that grew a person, birthed a person, and is still feeding or holding or chasing that person around the house, whether that person is two, twelve, or twenty. Nobody asked if you even want to be touched right now. Nobody told you that your sex drive might not come back the way it was, or that it might come back completely different, or that either one is allowed.
Similarly, nobody prepared you to be the parent who can talk to your own kids about their bodies, puberty, and sex. So you are left guessing there too.
This is the design of a healthcare system that was never built to support the full spectrum of sexual health and wellness for mothers. You deserve someone who asks. You deserve someone who stays in the room after the six-week clearance instead of moving on to the next chart. You deserve someone who treats your desire, your body, and your kids' sex education as part of your actual health, not an afterthought nobody has time for.
I built this space because you deserve all of it.

CNM · WHNP · PMHNP Sex Coach, Counselor, & Educator Mother of Four
I am a midwife. That is not a credential I mention and move on from. It shapes everything I do here. The midwifery model means you are not a patient to be fixed. There is no hierarchy. We work at your pace, with your goals, and your whole story in the room.
For over 14 years I have walked alongside women through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and every stage of reproductive life. What I kept noticing was that nobody was talking about sex. Nobody was asking about desire. Nobody was asking what happens to a woman's sexuality when she becomes a mother. So I decided I would.
I am also a mother of four, with kids ranging from 7 to 19. I lost my sexual self somewhere in motherhood, and I had to find my way back to it on my own. Most people never talk about that loss. I now wish someone like me had existed to help me find my way back sooner.
I also had no guidance on how to talk to my own kids about their bodies, puberty, and sex, and no roadmap for raising sex-positive kids. Classes for parents focus on pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, etc. There were no classes for raising a sex-positive kid, so I was left guessing, and so are many other parents. I built the guidance I never got, because I wish it had existed for me.
Whether you are here for your own sex life, or because you want to be the parent who can actually talk to your kids about their bodies without panicking, you are in the right place.
